The region in which the B&B finds itself, is perfectly
suited for walking, biking and mountain biking. Casa I Fortunelli finds
itself at a height of 600 meters and all around there is an area with hills
up to 800 meters. You can descend to a height of 300 meters. It is an
area with lots of woodland, meadows and open spaces with magnificent views
on the surrounding hills and valleys. When the sky is clear you can even see
the Alps.
You can reach those Alps, which surround
Piemonte at the West and the North, in an hour and a half's drive
When you head for the South though, you can reach the Mediterranean and its
beaches within the hour.
Possibilities for daytrips are plenty in this region. Cities like
Genova, Torino and Milano are easily reachable by car or train. And smaller
towns, like Alba, Cuneo, Mondovi or Acqui Terme are also worth a visit.
Admirers of delicious wines and food
should
not neglect towns like Barolo, Barbaresco, Asti and Alba. There you can find
and taste wines that are world-famous
Alba is the Capital of truffles.
Hazelnuts are famous throughout the region. Cortemilia, at ten
kilometres of the B&B, is considered the capital of hazelnuts. Probably
not for nothing Ferrero (maker of Nutella, Ferrero Rocher, Mon Cheri) has
founded his factory in this region.
Furthermore you can find several places selling Robiola, a
goats cheese with a D.O.P. quality mark. You really should try this
cheese before returning home.
We would love to assist you in planning
your daytrips.
In several years now, we have loved to
cook Italian. In fact you could call it a
passion. We would love to share this passion with our guests.
